While the AE Frame is a great kayak with the air in it you will get more resistance. Which isn’t a great thing when you go for a 30KM paddle. So I decided I would have to look into a hardshell kayak for longer distances. So the search began and I decided to go with the Wilderness Systems Tempest Pro 170, the reasons:
- Good combination between primary and secondary stability. Important for me as I wanted a kayak that listens to me but also provides a steady base while shooting pictures from the kayak.
- A good seat and a good room to get in. I am not big but when you need to get in or out in less than ideal situations it’s good to have an easy in or out.

Epic Active Touring 210-220CM

Palm Ullswater All-round decks. The one I bought for my AE Frame fits on the Tempest as well.

HIKO Sport Rolly droogtas to go on deck. I also use this for both kayaks.

A paddlecord. Normally used by wildwater- or seakayakers, but I like the fact I do not have to watch my paddle while taking pictures.
